[Info] New Test Server, Data API, and Trial of Ascension Rework


Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!


Today, we would like to discuss some upcoming changes which include the release of a new server.

Many of the features we present here are influenced by popular requests from the community.

▶ New Test Server


After closely listening to user feedback we decided to open our internal test server to all players.

The test server receives all updates two weeks before the other servers so players will have plenty of time to test new content and balance patches.


- The test server will have several special conditions:

- All content is immediately unlocked and there are no entry costs.

- Players can choose the monster that will be summoned from a scroll.

- Players will have access to the [Rune Designer] tool.

- Once per day every account will receive a gift of [Mystical Scroll] (x10) and [Scroll of Light and Darkness] (x2).

- Events are replaced by a feedback form.

- Progress is not saved. The test server opens two weeks before a patch and closes when the patch goes live and only re-opens prior to the next patch.


[Rune Designer]


The [Rune Designer] is a special interface that allows the crafting of any rune with the chosen properties. This allows players to test builds without the need of repeatedly defeating Cairos Dungeon bosses.

To avoid excessive server load the use of the [Rune Designer] tool will be limited to 30 times per day.



After you select the rune set you will be able to choose the slot number, main property, and sub properties.


▶ Data Export API


Summoners War is lucky to have a dedicated community exploring every aspect of the game in-depth. Many tools have been created to aid Summoners on their adventure!

However currently many of those tools work by accessing our servers in ways we do not support and which might change in the future.

To prevent players from losing access to these tools we have decided to create a new public API through which each player can gather their account data and use it as they see fit.


- The API will expose the following endpoints:

- GET /api/wizard: Access to profile data of a summoner.

- GET /api/monster: Access to monster data.

- GET /api/runes: Access to rune data.

- GET /api/guild: Access to guild data. For guild leaders only.


Please note that the API will be rate limited to prevent abuse and high server loads. Data export is limited to once per day.


In the future the API will be extended to also operate on our C2X blockchain so players can directly access their NFTs.

We are also looking into integrations for popular Crypto-Wallets like Metamask for our blockchain. Stay tuned!


Below is an example of using the API directly. We look forward to all the projects using our new API!



To use the API every account will be given a special API key with which the data for the associated account can be accessed.

To deliver those keys we will hold a special event after the v7.0.0 update where [Key Fragment] will be part of the loot pool in Cairos Dungeon.

Once you collect 1000 key fragments you can exchange them for various gifts and your individual API key on the event page.


[Programmer Ellia] will be given as a reward to every account that uses the new API.




▶ Trial of Ascension Rework


Many players have expressed a desire for Repeat Battle in Trial of Ascension, automatically advancing to the next stage when a stage is successfully completed.

Unfortunately our current implementation does not allow this in an easy way so we decided to completely rework how Trial of Ascension works. This will only apply to Normal and Hard modes of Trial of Ascension, Hell mode will stay unchanged.

As a result, Trial of Ascension will be transformed into 10 small wave-based fights.

Each fight will consist of 10 stages and work similar to Tower Defence games. The last stage of each fight will contain a boss monsters which you need to defeat.


Q. How does Tower Defence work in a turn based game like Summoners War?

A. Every time an enemy monster takes a turn they will advance a distance proportional to their SPD.


Q. Do my own monsters move?

A. No. Your own monsters will be stationary but still take turns and attack as usual.


Q. Will the rewards be adjusted?

A. The rewards will be the same as for the current Trial of Ascension. The rewards of 10 stages are combined into the rewards for one battle, so for example if you complete the first you will gain the rewards for stages 1 to 10.


Q. What happens if an enemy reaches the end of the way?

A. You lose the battle.


Q. What happens if I lose a battle? Do I have to restart?

A. You will have to start the battle from the beginning.


Q. What happens after 10 stages?

A. After you beat 10 stages the next battle is ready to begin. You can replace monsters before the next battle starts.


Q. Can I see what monsters expect me in the next battle?

A. You will be able to see a preview of the monsters in the upcoming battle via the Strategy Info.


Q. Is this mode manual or automatic?

A. Similar to Repeat Battle you will only be able to participate in automatic mode.


Q. How much energy is needed to enter a battle?

A. For every battle there is an entry cost of 50 energy.


Q. Will the stages be the same as before?

A. No. Due to the change in battle mechanics we designed new enemy constellations for the players to beat. We are looking forward to see what you come up with!


Q. How many monsters will I be able to use in a battle?

A. You will be able to use 10 monsters per battle.
